Drivers urged to fill up at Asda petrol stations before midnight

Drivers are being urged to go to Asda before 2026 begins.

Drivers are being urged to fill up at Asda petrol stations before midnight in order to get a bargain on fuel.

The supermarket giant is slashing 3p per litre off petrol and diesel, but only until the end of New Year’s Eve.

As soon as 2026 begins, the offer is over.

It means drivers looking to travel to see family for the new year should take advantage today, before midnight, while they still can.

Customers who spend £15 or more in an Asda Express will qualify for 3p per litre off fuel, in one of the nearly 500 Asda Express stores across the UK.

Asda has also cut prices of several New Year’s staples in its Express stores to help drivers get to the £15 barrier, including £6 bottles of Prosecco, £11 Baileys, tubs of chocolate for a fiver and £2.50 biscuits.

Certain Asda Express petrol stations will also give out Nectar points too.

Asda said: “Millions of drivers are set to visit friends and family for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

“Motorists have just a few days to cut fuel costs through Asda Express’s offer, which ends on 31st December.

“Customers spending £15 or more on groceries in an Asda Express store will receive 3p off per litre of fuel - making festive journeys more affordable.

Joseph Sutton, Vice President Asda Express, foodservice and fuel, said: “The festive period can be an expensive time for us all, as we make extra journeys to see our loved ones. With this fuel offer, we’re helping drivers save that little bit extra as they pick up festive treats and New Year’s Eve party goodies.”

There’s another reason to fill up today too - imminent snow.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for Scotland on Wednesday, and for England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Thursday.

The RAC recommends that drivers fill up before going on essential journeys as driving in extreme weather uses more fuel and increases the risks of becoming stranded.
