Drivers with Nectar cards handed instant 10p a litre off fuel

Sainsbury's is rewarding its loyal customers until the end of December.

Sainsbury's is giving back to shoppers by rewarding its loyal customers with money off their fuel and extra Nectar card points. The supermarket's loyalty scheme allows shoppers to collect points with personalised offers from Sainsbury's and points with brand partner offers each week.

Now it has shared that customers enrolled in its loyalty scheme can save money when refuelling their cars at various Esso-branded petrol stations. The offer, which is valid until December 3, 2025, is available to all Nectar Cardholders. All you have to do is present your Nectar Card at checkout or have previously added your details to your Esso App account.

Sainsbury's said: "Right now, if you spend 600 Nectar points at Esso, you'll save 10p per litre of fuel, and we'll chuck 100 points back your way.

"So whether you're car sharing with colleagues, doing the school run, or kicking off a road trip, scan Nectar to spend points, get money off your journey and bonus points."

Customers should ensure that they unlock their Nectar points in the Nectar app or online, and then lock them again once they have been used.

To claim your points, fill up at a participating Esso-branded service station, scan your Nectar card when you pay, using the app or your plastic card to access the barcode.

Then choose 'Spend points' at checkout, spend your 600 points on your fill and then enjoy 100 points back within 28 days of the offer ending.

To qualify, you must buy 10L or more of fuel at a participating Esso-branded service station that accepts the Nectar card. In exchange for 600 Nectar points, loyal customers can receive a 10p per litre discount and 100 bonus Nectar points.

Sainsbury's added: "The Discount applies on the first 60 litres only. A maximum of 600 points can be exchanged for the Discount in a single transaction. Nectar points cannot be spent on non-fuel purchases."

The deal cannot be claimed at Tesco-branded Esso sites and does not apply to Northern Ireland.
