Christian von Koenigsegg has long been admired by enthusiasts as the man who built a hypercar empire from nothing more than ambition and engineering obsession.
But now, that admiration has turned into an internet spectacle, after supercar collector Steve Hamilton took aim at the Swedish marque’s founder and CEO, sparking a surprisingly public feud between customer and creator.

The tension erupted when Hamilton posted a photoshopped image of Koenigsegg as Marvel’s Thanos, captioned: “I will no longer be silenced by Thanos von Koenigsegg. Deliver my f* car. The amount of Koenigsegg owners that DM us with grievances, issues, etc., would blow your mind.”
Koenigsegg Responds
Christian didn’t ignore it. He answered with a video on his personal Instagram page, clarifying that Hamilton’s second payment for the car only arrived at the start of 2025 and that the build specification wasn’t finalized until May.
“When he had finalized his spec, we told his dealer that the car will ship end of November,” Koenigsegg said. “We’re final test driving it as we speak, and it’s going into polishing. So I don’t know what this guy is on about. It’s just unbelievable.”
He went on to address earlier complaints about Hamilton’s Regera, explaining that the car had been purchased second-hand from a dealer and hadn’t been serviced in three years, missing several key updates. According to Koenigsegg, his team even flew out to perform those updates at no cost, and Hamilton later placed an order for a new Jesko.

Hamilton countered that his Regera had been sitting at the dealer for two months. Koenigsegg replied that the car had actually shipped a few days earlier, suggesting that if Hamilton wanted faster service, he could have used another of the brand’s dozen-plus U.S. dealers.
Quality Concerns or Miscommunication?
Koenigsegg acknowledged that the brand’s ultra-high-performance cars aren’t flawless. “These extreme cars usually tend to have some issues, especially in the beginning of series,” he admitted, “but we always upgrade and take care of it to make sure that even the early cars are in the end as good as the last ones.”
He added that many Regera owners have driven their cars extensively and trouble-free.

The video closed with Koenigsegg walking around the orange Jesko Hamilton has on order. “So here we have the car we’re speaking about. Beautiful spec, custom spec,” the CEO said. “Yeah, what am I supposed to do now? It’s an interesting situation, and it’s not finally paid for. So, hmmm.” The remark left some wondering whether the purchase was fully settled.
Hamilton’s Response
Shortly after the video went public, Hamilton replied with another reel of his own, saying:
“I genuinely think that people at Koenigsegg are good people and they care about their customers, but at the end of the day they just don’t build a good quality car. I hope they can right this with the Jesko, but the Regera is a total crapshow, and I’m not the only one that says this- there are tons of Regera owners and Agera owners, people that you know and you recognize the name of, that just hate the quality of this car.”

He clarified that he hadn’t yet sent the final payment because it isn’t due until the car is ready to ship. “I’m ready to send the payment when he’s ready to receive it,” he said. As for the Regera delays, Hamilton explained that his claim was “kind of” true, as he had been “trying to get it to the shop for 7–8 weeks.”
The collector closed on a slightly conciliatory note: “Every penny this channel makes goes to charity. We need to be positive with our messaging, but they need to be held accountable.”
A visit to the official website of the Hamilton Collection shows two new Koenigsegg models “on order” – the orange Jesko and a blue Gemera. Furthermore, the red Reggera is listed on the “archive” rather than the “active fleet” section.
Supporters of both figures have already picked sides, turning a production delay into a full-blown social media saga. Whether the two resolve their dispute remains to be seen, but the world’s most exclusive hypercar brand has once again proven it can stir up drama almost as fast as it builds speed.
