Ericsson Brothers to Race Together for the First Time at Michelin 12H Malaysia

2022 Indianapolis 500 winner Marcus Ericsson will team up with his brother Hampus for the inaugural Michelin 12H Malaysia endurance race at Sepang in December.

For the first time in their racing careers, Marcus Ericsson, the winner of the 2022 Indianapolis 500, and his twin brother Hampus will share the track together at the Michelin 12H Malaysia. The race is set for December 6 at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, marking an exciting chapter for the Ericsson family on global soil.

The brothers will pilot the No. 63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, fielded by the German squad Leipert Motorsport. Their teammates include Swedes Thomas Karlsson and Axel Bengtsson, both seasoned racers with extensive experience in GT and one-make series.

Hampus Ericsson's credentials are impressive after securing the 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Pro Championship with co-driver Danny Formal. The duo also claimed victory at the Super Trofeo World Final in Misano, solidifying Hampus’s status as a rising GT star. Marcus brings his endurance expertise and open-wheel pedigree, making this pairing one to watch.

The Michelin 12H Malaysia will serve as the first round of the 24H Series Middle East Trophy, a newly introduced winter series aimed at extending racing programs into the new year. More than 20 entries are expected, with teams like Absolute Racing and Earl Bamber Motorsport also securing spots.
