BMW’s 2026 iX3 shows how electric SUVs are evolving fast. The Neue Klasse model brings a sizable 108.7 kWh usable battery to the table, pushing its official WLTP range up to around 805 kilometres (roughly 497 miles). Under the hood, the iX3 features BMW’s latest sixth-generation battery technology with cylindrical lithium-ion cells. BMW also emphasizes sustainability in production, claiming their new cylindrical cell battery cuts carbon emissions by 42 percent compared to the last generation. The built-in bi-directional charging functionality, including Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Grid, is planned, adding practical energy use beyond driving.
With price tags falling compared to earlier models, and efficiency figures punching above peers, the 2026 BMW iX3 stakes a serious claim in the mid-size electric SUV market.
