The Ford Maverick is the most popular compact truck in America but many owners and would-be buyers have long wanted something with more bite under the hood. Last year’s Maverick Lobo didn’t deliver extra power, but Ford has now confirmed a forthcoming performance kit for select trims, built with parts borrowed from the Mustang.

The new kit has been previewed by the Maverick 300T project vehicle, heading to SEMA before reaching customers in 2026. Ford says the idea grew “from talking with Maverick customers in addition to late nights scrolling through Reddit and Ford Maverick Truck Club forum.
What’s Under The Hood?
Underneath, the 300T hides an upgraded 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, now fitted with the larger turbocharger from the Mustang’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost. The setup should deliver around 300 horsepower and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque while remaining fully CARB-certified for all fifty states.
That’s a pretty big boost over the standard gas Maverick that makes 238 hp (177 kW / 241 PS) and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm).
The new turbo kit features a 59mm compressor wheel (up from 53 mm) and a 58.8% larger Mishimoto intercooler. Matthew Simpson, Ford’s Executive Director of Accessories and Personalization, notes the intercooler “delivers a 39.6 percent increase in temperature reduction and a 20.1 percent reduction in pressure drop compared to the factory unit.”
Suspension Tweaks
The 300T isn’t just about the engine. Ford designed the kit as a full performance upgrade, revising the suspension with lowering springs, monotube rear dampers, and a sturdier rear stabilizer bar from the Maverick Lobo.
These changes drop the truck by 10 mm (0.4 inches) at the front and 30 mm (1.4 inches) at the rear. A Borla Sport cat-back exhaust with dual tailpipes gives it a sharper soundtrack to match its stance.

Visually, the 300T stands out thanks to the 20-inch alloy wheels lifted from the fully electric Mustang Mach-E GT, available in Black or Bronze. Ford will fit them with Pirelli P Zero Elect tires, though the SEMA show truck rolls on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber.
What Else Sets It Apart?
The look is finished with color-matched 300T decals, Maverick tailgate lettering, fender vents, and Ford Performance badges. A slightly reworked front spoiler by Air Design hints at the larger intercooler sitting behind it.
All the upgrades are compatible with Maverick XL, XLT, and Lariat trims equipped with the 2.0-liter engine and AWD. Ford also suggests adding the optional 4K Tow Package, which enhances transmission and drivetrain cooling.
A prototype of the Maverick 300T will be showcased at the Ford Performance Parts booth at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The kit is expected to be made available as a performance upgrade in 2026. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
According to Ford, the 300T project marks “just the beginning,” with more custom builds already in the pipeline from the Ford Custom Garage.
