Factory Built RTR Ford Mustang Coming to a Showroom Near You

Ford and RTR have teamed up for a new factory Mustang option pack that turns the EcoBoost fastback into what Vaughn Gittin Jr calls “the most badass turbocharged Mustang ever.”

Ford is giving the Mustang world a serious shake-up. The automaker has partnered with Vaughn Gittin Jr’s RTR Vehicles to create a factory built Mustang RTR, the first of its kind to roll straight out of Ford’s Flat Rock assembly line. Set to launch next summer, this new edition is based on the EcoBoost fastback and brings factory warranty-backed tuning, track-ready handling, and a few wild tricks borrowed from Ford’s racing division.

The headline feature is the anti lag system. Adapted from the Ford GT race car setup, it keeps the turbo spinning for instant response and produces the sort of pops and flames previously reserved for high-strung race cars. Output climbs to 350 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, a healthy jump from the standard 315 and 350.

Beneath the surface, the RTR package borrows key suspension pieces from the Mustang Dark Horse, including its subframe, sway bars, and adjustable strut mounts. A drift brake comes standard, as does an active valve exhaust system. Buyers can also spec MagneRide dampers and Brembo brakes for true track performance.

Styling is unmistakably RTR. The grille glows with the brand’s signature LED nostrils, the stance benefits from custom 19 inch wheels, and an array of hyper lime accents adds a pop of color throughout. Inside, the touches continue with RTR badging, illuminated door sills, and contrasting stitching.

Gittin Jr describes the project as a dream realized. “This proves that a turbocharged Mustang can be every bit as fun and thrilling as the V8 models,” he said. Ford sees it as the perfect entry point for a new generation of buyers who want performance, style, and factory backing in one setup.

Pricing isn’t yet confirmed, but expect a premium over the standard EcoBoost. The combination of Ford engineering and RTR attitude makes this one of the most interesting additions to the Mustang family in years  a car aimed squarely at driving enthusiasts who want to light up corners and grin every mile.
