Ferrari Opens E Vortex Test Track Next to Fiorano Ready for Electric Future

Ferrari has completed its new 1887 metre e Vortex test track adjacent to the legendary Fiorano circuit in just four months. This state of the art facility is designed for precise testing of the brand’s upcoming electric and combustion sportscars.

Ferrari has just unveiled a striking new test track named the e Vortex, built right next to the iconic Fiorano race circuit, where the Prancing Horse has honed its racing and sports car legends for over five decades. In a whirlwind construction effort completed in less than four months, this 1.9 kilometre circuit sits on a 37,000 square metre site that adds a fresh chapter to Ferrari’s relentless pursuit of perfection.

The e Vortex is a carefully engineered testing laboratory carved out of the Italian countryside to meet the highest standards of safety and precision. Its layout includes two wide banked curves bookending a 600 metre central straight along with a series of tight and flowing bends designed to push cars to their dynamic limits. This diversity allows Ferrari’s engineers to evaluate everything from handling finesse to stability on slopes and assess noise vibration harshness performance and ride comfort on special bespoke surfaces developed by Ferrari’s experts.

An adjoining 1000 square metre workshop facility brings testing off the track and under one roof, allowing engineers rapid static inspections and quick turnaround for mechanical adjustments and fine tuning without losing momentum on the program.

This facility arrives at a pivotal moment as Ferrari develops its first fully electric model and refines the next generation of traditional combustion sportscars. The e Vortex will enable the brand to gradually reduce testing on public roads, where distractions and variables can dilute data quality. Instead, performance and refinement testing can be tightly controlled and accelerated behind closed gates.

For Ferrari enthusiasts accustomed to catching spy shots on public streets around Maranello, the e Vortex may well signal the end of those thrilling glimpses into Ferrari’s top secrecy development worlds. But it guarantees that every new Ferrari will be pushed hard and perfected.
