Polestar not messing about as the world’s EV competition heats up. The Polestar 3, already a striking contender, just received a major shot of adrenaline with upgraded motors, faster charging, and smarter computing. For 2026, this Scandinavian SUV gets a beefed-up 800-volt architecture, allowing DC fast-charging at up to 350 kW and slashing plug-in time to around 22 minutes for a 10 to 80 percent fill.
Power figures across the board climb sharply. The single-motor version is now up to 245 kW, while the Dual Motor sees output jump to 400 kW both with improved efficiency and rear-biased handling thanks to a clever front motor disconnect. The headliner, though, is the Polestar 3 Performance, now rocketing to 500 kW (that’s 670 horsepower), meaning 0-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. That’s over 120 kW more than before, and enough shove to keep pace with the fastest electric SUVs on the planet.
Supporting all this is a smarter “brain” the new AGX Orin processor, leaping from 30 trillion to 254 trillion operations per second. It enables not just advanced safety and smoother drive modes, but also lets existing owners retrofit the tech at no extra charge. Battery packs are reworked, too: 92 kWh for the single-motor, and a more potent 106 kWh pack for AWD and Performance trims.
The facelift brings subtle design tweaks and some fresh trim inside, while the range and option structure are cleaner than ever. The Polestar 3 is now not just a challenger, but a serious leader in the upscale EV SUV category smarter, quicker, and more thrilling than ever.
