- Jeep Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers face a second recall in under a month.
- Latest recall impacts 123,396 vehicles with trim that may fall off while driving.
- Earlier recall covered 163,735 SUVs with door trim that could unexpectedly detach.
The Jeep Grand Wagoneer can cost upwards of $100,000, but the SUVs are literally falling apart. Specifically, the government says the “quarter trim on the driver and passenger windows may not have been properly secured, which can allow it to detach.”
That’s not good and the company is now recalling 123,396 Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers from the 2022-2024 model years. It’s believed that roughly 9% of them suffer from poorly attached trim, which would equate to around 11,106 vehicles.
Pieces Coming Loose
The automaker opened an investigation in May because the SUVs have rear quarter window trim that can fall off and create a road hazard. It eventually found 1,710 warranty claims, three customer assistance records, one field report, and 40 other service records that could potentially be related to the issue. However, the company isn’t aware of any injuries or accidents.

While that’s good news, there’s no word on what is causing the issue. As a result, there’s no fix at the moment. That’s disappointing, but owners will receive interim notification letters in mid-November. A second letter will then follow once a remedy is available.
Back-to-Back Trim Trouble
The latest recall follows an earlier campaign that impacted 163,735 Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers from the 2022-2025 model years. They had door trim that could fall off and create a road hazard.
That trim was supplied by Cooper-Standard instead of Fuyao Automotive, but it’s surprising the same vehicles are being recalled twice in a month for components that fall off. That being said, the earlier issue was less widespread as it only involved 405 warranty claims, three field reports, and 112 other service records.
That problem has a fix as dealers will inspect the daylight opening trim and replace it, as necessary. Those notification letters are scheduled to be mailed out on Halloween.
