NASCAR to talk with Trackhouse after odd post-race actions. Two Trackhouse Racing cars drove into the grass on purpose after WWT Raceway.

On Sunday, NASCAR raced at WWT Raceway. After the race, two Trackhouse Racing cars drove off in the grass on the cool down lap as they were heading for the pit lane.

Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen both ran into the grass on purpose coming to the pit lane. However, it remains unclear why they did it.

And it appears there was more than just off-road excursions. Ricky Stenhouse Jr noted cars running into the wall after the race.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr stated via X, “Got some running into the wall and destroying the RS as well.”

These actions have caught the attention of NASCAR officials. And now, they’ll be talking to the teams.

“We’ll be having some discussions with Trackhouse in management as well as their crew chiefs, and we’ll be giving all the teams some information regarding that this week,” Moran Brad stated via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“It certainly caught our radar. We have rules that could put the teams in a real bad spot when we see that. So, we’ll make it pretty clear to them, moving forward, starting at Bristol what that means.”

NASCAR has a detailed post-race inspection process as all the cars are designed to be spec designs.

This weekend, NASCAR is racing at Bristol Motor Speedway. The track lacks any grass, yet NASCAR still issued a reminder.

Teams were specifically reminded of the rule that, “vehicles must not be altered or adjusted in any manner during the cool-down lap”
