Marquez Makes It Seven Straight: MotoGP’s Historic Debut in Hungary Thrills at Balaton Park

MotoGP delivered a dramatic debut at Hungary’s Balaton Park, with Marc Marquez charging to a record 14th win in a row—further tightening his grip on the 2025 title. The race was loaded with bold overtakes, high-stakes crashes, penalties, and a diverse podium. Pedro Acosta showcased the speed of his KTM, Marco Bezzecchi’s Aprilia took early control, and Jorge Martin stormed through the field as Marquez moved past challengers and toward victory.

Marquez lost the holeshot but was relentless, retaking the lead after calculated attacks and then pulling clear. Bezzecchi fought hard in the opening laps, but Acosta surged late and grabbed second, proving KTM’s rising strength. Misfortune struck several rivals—Bagnaia served a long lap penalty yet salvaged points, while notable names including Miller and Bastianini suffered race-ending crashes. Quartararo pulled off a top ten despite his own penalty.

The crowd witnessed battles throughout the field and three manufacturers on the podium, with new faces like Luca Marini making the top five for Honda. Fittingly, Hungary’s return to MotoGP after more than thirty years started with relentless drama, blistering speed, and a truly world-class display of riding skills.
