Wheeler Dealers star Mike Brewer has suggested a vehicle built by one of the most popular British brands could be the "best small car” on the market today. The host of the popular classic car restoration series has highlighted the Vauxhall Corsa as one of the standout models ideal for those on the lookout for a second-hand bargain.
The Corsa is a popular choice among consumers, with motorists often praising its affordability and low running costs. However, Mike suggested the model has "grown up” in recent years with the model feeling more spacious than the price tag probably suggests. Modern Vauxhall Corsas just a couple of years old can be picked up for a little over £10,000, making them an ideal pick for those on a budget.
Speaking on a video for Car Dealer Magazine, Mike said: “One of my favourite ever cars and congratulations go to this. The evergreen and I think very youthful Vauxhall Corsa.
“The Vauxhall Corsa’s been with us now for absolutely decades and I think everyone who has sat in the room has probably put their bum in one of these seats and had a go in one generation or another of the brilliant little Vauxhall Corsa.
“This is a car that’s really grown up recently, and this is why it becomes our favourite small car, Although it's small it’s got that big car feel. There’s plenty of space inside the cabin, nice big fat chunky multi-functional steering wheel.
"The fit and finish is very nice, yes, it’s still got questionable materials on the inside but they are not trying to get that premium market. They are trying to get that evergreen market and they've certainly captured it with this car.”
While taking the car out for a spin, Mike also praised the car for being easy to drive, making it a staple for driving schools across the country. He also liked the vehicle’s onboard infotainment system and loved how the car can come in a range of different fuel types.
Motorists can now get their hands on a petrol, diesel and even an electric version of the Corsa, offering plenty of choice to consumers.
He added: “If you're in the market for a good small used car, there's plenty of these to choose from. You’ll find them all over, they’re awash on the internet, Plenty of choice, plenty of different flavours, plenty of different fit and finish and conditions, so you should be good to go.”
