And then there were four.

Thierry Neuville has effectively taken himself out of the running to defend his World Rally Championship crown, conceding his gut-punch of a puncture on Rally Finland that demoted him to sixth place at the finish has effectively ruined his chances. It’s a four-way fight now.

But which of the four contenders – Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä, Sébastien Ogier and Ott Tänak – is best-placed to press on and win the title? It’s not as straightforward as simply looking at the current points tally.
