From moments of despair to unbridled joy, this season has seen it all and we’ve only just started the second half

From moments of despair to unbridled joy, this season has seen it all and we’ve only just started the second half

The mid-season break has us all looking forward to a well-deserved rest, offering the chance to charge those batteries for the second half of the year. With the riders already hitting the beach, party and relaxation – sprinkled with a bit of training – we’ve put together some of the most emotional moments in 2025 thus far. Don’t forget, there’s still more to come!

Fabio, oh Fabio. Silverstone was in Fabio Quartararo’s (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) back pocket; it looked like that Sunday drought was going to end… all that happened was the Grand Prix ended early. A ride-height device problem took him out of the lead and the heartbreak was clear for all to see.

Fabio’s retirement paved the way for another story. Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia Racing) came through from the fourth row to put Aprilia’s off-track situation with Jorge Martin to one side, taking victory and at the right time. The fifth different winner in a row in 2025…

UNSEEN: "Now I have more wins than you!"

Let’s rewind a round to THAT French GP at Le Mans. 71 years since the last French winner in MotoGP at home, Johann Zarco (CASTROL Honda LCR) emerged through the storm in front of his mum and dad – their first weekend – to take victory. MotoGP with full throttle emotion.

Remember Qatar? It seems like yesterday that we were there but it was actually back in April – time flies when you’re having fun. Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) had to fight hard at Lusail, even with some damage to his rear aero. Can we get the bill for a Mr. A Marquez, please?

UNSEEN: "Your brother has to pay for that!"

Also at Lusail, a shining performance under the lights for Maverick Viñales (Red Bull KTM Tech 3). Crossing the line in second, a tyre pressure penalty soon came his way but anyway, the #12 remained positive about bigger things coming on the horizon.

A huge crowd full of 6am-starters or perhaps the stay-all-nighters, who knows – what we do know is that we’re talking about Jerez. It was a pivotal moment for the Championship battle with Marc crashing and brother Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP) taking a first win and taking the lead of the standings by a single point – something his brother quickly reminded him about…

UNSEEN: "I'm not going to gift you anything!"

Don’t miss Alex Marquez’s celebration in Jerez, going from excitement to euphoria after his historic win, and his chat with his brother Marc

Finally, no look back in 2025 is complete without a visit to Mugello, is it? Those hills, this title race, THAT epic battle and THAT contact between Marc and teammate Pecco. Both were called up to the stewards’ room after the Grand Prix for a quick chat…
