New WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca president Mel Harder says the famed road course has seen an appreciable rise in ticket sales for IndyCar’s annual visit. The former IndyCar Series executive wouldn’t be drawn on the number, but RACER understands it’s in the vicinity of a 20 percent improvement over 2024’s figure

New WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca president Mel Harder has reported a noticeable increase in ticket sales for IndyCar’s annual race at the iconic road course. While Harder didn’t specify exact numbers, sources close to the track indicate the rise is around 20 percent compared to 2024. The improvement is visible with busier crowds in the paddock leading up to race days, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, though grandstands on race day remain more modestly filled.

Harder attributes the boost to several new fan experiences and facility upgrades introduced recently. These include new entertainment areas like a roadhouse saloon with live music, game tables, and bars to create a lively, social atmosphere. Additionally, improvements to guest access and movement—such as paved admissions areas and enhanced shuttle tram services—have made attending the event smoother and more enjoyable.

The ongoing renovations, which also involve upgraded grandstands, hospitality suites, a new timing tower, and improved track safety features, are part of a broader effort by Friends of Laguna Seca to revitalize the venue and enhance the overall race weekend experience. Harder expressed optimism that these steps are resonating well with fans and will continue to build momentum for future events at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
